Netiquette

Netiquette is a set of guidelines that direct the conduct of Internet users. It is important that you are aware of these rules before creating your profile or submitting comments accordingly; otherwise, your profile or comments might not be published.

  1. Falsely personating someone else with the intent to mislead or cause harm is a serious infraction that can lead to expulsion.
  2. The profiles and comments published on Planet Yoga are open to everyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
  3. Defamatory, heinous, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist or abusive remarks with regards to ethnicity, religion or age will not be published.
  4. On the Internet, CAPITAL letters are tantamount to shouting, and can be construed as aggressive, something other users often find unpleasant. Any message containing one word or more written in capital letters (excluding acronyms) will be rejected.
  5. Vulgar, obscene or otherwise abusive language is prohibited. User profiles and comments are "public", and crude remarks may hurt some users.
  6. Mutual respect is expected between users. Insults, threats, harassment or anything that may be interpreted as such is prohibited. You can express your disagreement without attacking someone else.
  7. Messages that are not about yoga will be discarded.
  8. Sending a message multiple times interferes with discussions and will not be tolerated.
  9. Including links to other websites is accepted, as long as those websites respect the present netiquette. However, Planet Yoga is not responsible for third-party websites.
  10. Copying someone else's writings, even when citing the author, is not accepted when it constitutes a sizeable part of one of the chapters in your profile or of a comment.
  11. In that sense (see #10), posting an audio or video clip—or a photo—for which you do not own the rights, is also unacceptable. By submitting any content (audio, video, text, or photo), you attest owning the rights to said content.
  12. Any advertisement or call for public action is prohibited.
  13. All content associated with profile chapters and all comments are moderated before being published. Planet Yoga reserves the right to abstain from publishing any content or message submitted by users.
  14. By submitting content (text, video, audio, comment or other), you give Planet Yoga the authorisation to publish it on the web for an undefined period. This also entails that this content might be indexed in Internet search engines.
  15. Planet Yoga does not have the obligation to withdraw your content from the web if you ever make such a request. We urge you to measure your words and think of the consequences of their publication.
